Pablo's Misc Corner - 6/20/07
Well, don't look now but the Pirates are putting together a nice little run as of late, going 5-2 over the last 7 games. Granted, much of that was against struggling competition, but there is no shame in the Bucs beating Seattle, a team that has been hot as of late. With last nights win, the Bucs have improved to 31-39 overall, and 5-5 in interleague play. I think a 5-4 road trip against such competition would be great, and lets hope this is the start that gets them there!
THIS DATE IN 1997:
The Pirates lost to the Mets 1-0 at Shea. Bobby Jones went 8 2/3 innings for New York. John Franco pitched 1/3 of an inning for the save, getting Jose Guillen to ground out to end the game. The Bucs fell to 33-38 on the year.
