Pablo's Misc Corner - 6/11/07

There is a comments post on PSG today urging all to participate in a rally against the current ownership of the Pirates. I'd like to comment on this....

There have been other rallys like this in the past... There were the Irate Fans from last years and others have tried to organize walk outs.

While I am as frustrated as the next guy at the current state of the Bucs, I have never wanted to be involved in a demonstration or rally against the Bucs. In my opinion, true fans would not do something like that. But thats only my opinion, and I respect your desire to see something done by Pirate management.

I agree Pirate management must change things for us to have a chance at winning. However, no rally, walkout or demonstration will convince this group of owners to change. The only thing that will affect them is bottom line. If you don't like the way things are run, the only way to get attention is to stop spending your money on the team. Stop watching them on TV. Stop listening on the radio. Those are the only things that the team will understand.

I am not ready to do those things. I will continue to purchase tickets, memorabilia, etc and support the club, because I am a loyal Bucs fan.
