Pablo's Misc Corner - 4/17/07

It wasn't pretty in the end, but a W is a W. This is exactly what this team needed to start the road trip off.

It must be repeated, as others on this very board have mentioned, but Ian Snell is the best starter on this team. By a large margin too.

You gotta score players from 3rd with no outs. These are the type of gift runs that a team like ours can't pass up! We get those runs and the situation in the 9th isn't as hairy.

Poor LaRoache. He did get a hit last night but his confidence must be a big goose egg these days. Sometimes you get a chance to get a free RBI (after Sanchez was on with a leadoff triple) and thats exactly what you need to get jump started. I know its early, but if he doesn't come around by the end of this road trip, Tracy might want to think of dropping him down a tad in the order and taking some of the pressure off.

Interesting article in the PG today about Tracy not getting mad. Unfortunetly, the article is written from the perspective of him not getting mad at the players. I do not think that is what the fans mean when they say they want to see him get mad. What the fans meant by that is that when there is a close play in the field, or one of his players gets hosed on a call, get out there and say something! Stand up for the player! Or at the postgame press conference, lose the happy go lucky approach and pull a Lou Pinnella every now and then. It lets us fans know you care. Nobody was asking Tracy to go into the clubhouse and dump a water cooler on Jason Bay or anything.
