Purpose

It has been said there are two things you can always talk about, religion and the weather. In Western Pennsylvania you can easily add "sports" to that list. What used to be a region filled with loyal, blue collar steel workers and coal miners is quickly developing into a high-tech community. That loyalty still remains. Now it is channeled into our sports teams.

If there is one reason we are so loyal and opinionated, it is because we have been spoiled by the level of sports excellence in this area. We've been blessed to see some of the greats play in our region: Lemieux, Clemente, Lambert, and Griffin. Many of our neighbors have even reached the hall of fame for their respective sports: Marino, Dorsett, Butkis, Montana, Unitas, Kelly and Namath. We have seen five SuperBowl champions, five World Series Champions, and two Stanley Cup champions.

This blog is comprised of the thoughts of several sports fanatics. There's almost a ten year gap in age difference and almost 200 miles between the extremes. What you are guaranteed to read here is a diverse, clean impression of what is transpiring in the sports world according to Pittsburgh. You'll read plenty of insight about not only the Pirates, Penguins and Steelers, but also about Pitt, Ohio State and West Virginia (not P-E-N-N-S-T-SUCKS). Of course we will not limit our scope to just regional sports happenings; if it involves sports and we have an opinion on it, it will be posted. We'll always have something to talk about.
